Welcome to Mary L. Welty Elementary School, home of the Roadrunners, where our motto is “Doing Your Best Every Day!” We are located about an hour south of Tucson in the beautiful mountains of southern Arizona in Nogales, just north of the Mexico border. Dear Mary L. Welty Parents and Guardians,

I hope my letter finds you in good spirits and health. We are writing with much pride and enthusiasm to announce that our school has been selected for an A+ School of Excellence school visit. The faculty and staff began a five month experience of creating the application that has led our school to be selected for the visitation. The visitation will take place on Monday, March 30th and Tuesday, March 31st, 2020.
The A+ School of Excellence judges will be visiting our campus on both Monday and Tuesday. The visitation will include an all-day observation of our teachers and students. Students will be randomly selected by the judges to be interviewed. The interview questions are nothing personal, but rather a way for judges to see if our students enjoy being at school and their opinion on our school. The judges will also be meeting with parents and community members throughout their visit. If you are interested in participating on the parent committee on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, please communicate with Mrs. Aissa Bonillas at arenteria@nusd.k12.az.us or (520) 287-0880.
We are very excited for this step in the award process! We know that our school encompasses all of the traits to be selected as an A+ School of Excellence. If you have any questions, please feel free to call and speak to any of our faculty and staff members.
Thank you,

Aissa Bonillas
Principal
